2025/2026 2nd Semester Topics Published

2026. 02. 11.

KIBERLAB continues to offer exciting, up-to-date topic calls in the 2025/26 (2nd) semester for BSc, MSc, and PhD students alike. The Lab’s goal is to help students gain deeper practical knowledge and hands-on experience across multiple areas of cybersecurity by solving real industrial problems while working closely with leading professionals and academic staff.

The research portfolio includes both long-running projects and newly announced topics. The published themes cover, among others, incident management (e.g., honeypots, attacker profiling, anti-phishing solutions), defenses against financial fraud, risk management (such as LLM testing and post-quantum solutions), as well as other freely chosen areas (e.g., news crawlers). The full list is available on the following page: ELTE–OTP KIBERLAB TOPICS 2025/2026 (2nd semester).

You can apply in Neptun by enrolling in one of the Software Technology Lab I–IV courses (IPM-18sztSZT1L, IPM-18sztSZT2L, IPM-18sztSZT3L, IPM-18sztSZT4L) under Attila Kovács’s course. Through these, you can earn 6 credits within the lab course framework. Based on the credit value, an average weekly workload of about 8 hours is expected, along with one in-person meeting per week at the university. If you are working alongside your studies, it may be more difficult to fit this time commitment into your schedule, so it is worth thinking through your availability in advance. At the same time, we aim to be flexible wherever possible so that participation is accessible to as many students as we can accommodate.
